Hopkins is looking for the "well-rounded" student, as are most schools of the same caliber. Apply ED if this is your first choice-- I feel that I was really taking a risk applying RD, even with high test scores and GPA.

Good LUCK!

It's important to show the school that you are really interested in it, not that it's just a backup school for the Ivy Leagues. Hopkins is a great school and doesn't need to be anybody's second choice...
My roommate freshman and sophomore year got a 1600 on her SATs and was waitlisted until late July from Hopkins because she didn't make it clear that she wanted to go to the school as much as she wanted to go to Harvard...

Things get tougher and tougher and Hopkins is probably looking for the "well rounded" student more than anything-- 1500 + SAT's are a dime a dozen here so focus on extracurrics and meaningful ones at that. Good Luck
ACT: 33 SAT: 1470 Female
Request an interview! That always helpsJan 24 2003Biology
Request an interview! That always helps. However, only request one if you think it will help you. If you are a dud and will just end up answering the interview questions with one word phrases, maybe you should steer clear of this part of the application process. However, an interview always looks like you care enough about the school you're applying to. Interviews at Hopkins is something that not a lot of people know about.
SAT: 1550 Male

OK, like all tier 1, study and play locrasse. Oh yeah besides that, rock those SATs even if you need to take it more than once. They ignore your worst and keep your best.
